Slice the tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Arrange them on a serving plate in a single layer.
Slice the fresh mozzarella into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Place each slice on top of a tomato slice.
Tuck fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella slices. You can also chiffonade the basil and sprinkle it over the top.
Drizzle extra virgin olive oil evenly over the arranged tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
Add a drizzle of balsamic glaze for a touch of sweetness and acidity.
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
