Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, dry mustard, onion powder, and garlic powder until well combined.
Add the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the egg mixture. Stir gently to combine.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set.
